Kate Middleton made her debut as the new Colonel of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards in Aldershot.

The event was the annual St Patrick's Day Parade and marked Kate's first official appearance in the role.

Prince William, the previous Colonel, expressed his sadness but praised Kate's commitment to the regiment.

Kate donned a stunning teal Catherine Walker coat and matching hat for the occasion.

She presented shamrock sprigs to officers, guardsmen, and the Irish wolfhound regimental mascot.

Kate took the salute as the new Colonel during the parade's royal salute and march-past.

The couple met with the Irish Guards Association, consisting of past members of the Irish Guards.

William enjoyed a pint of Guinness, while Kate opted for a half pint to end their visit.

The ceremony highlighted Kate's growing prominence in the royal family and her dedication to her new post as Colonel.
