Kate Middleton attended the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Aldershot on March 17, marking her first time as the Colonel in the Irish Guards.

Body language expert Judi James says there are interesting "power play signals" when Prince William hands Kate her new title.

James says Kate's body language is more military than regal, and that William responds to her look with a twisted smile.

Another expert, Darren Stanton, says Kate wanted to assert her authority over William and others.

Stanton notes that Kate wore a "superhero color" to make herself known as the new Colonel.

This was William's first appearance at the parade since he inherited the title of Colonel of the Welsh Guards from his father.

The couple previously attended the parade together in 2019.

The event was held without the usual large crowds due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Kate also handed out shamrocks to officers and warrant officers, a tradition that dates back to 1901.
